Pcm Code E071, Intermittent Map Sensor: Action

PCM Code E071 set. No service message is given.

NOTE: Test number refers to number on diagnostic chart.
  1. Check terminal crimp to wire, and ensure terminals are properly seated in connectors. 5-volt reference can be tested by jumpering harness terminals "A", "B" and "C" to MAP sensor terminals "A", "B" and "C". Connect DVOM positive lead to jumper lead "C" and negative lead to jumper lead "A". Turn ignition on. Apply vacuum signal to sensor and tap lightly on sensor using a pencil or pocket screwdriver. Voltage should remain 4.6-5.1 volts when sensor is tapped.
