BCM System Check

  1. Connect scan tool. Attempt to establish communication with BCM. If scan tool displays data, go to next step. If scan tool does not display data, go to step 4).
  2. If no current DTCs are displayed, go to next step. If current DTCs are displayed, go to BCM DTC DEFINITION  .
  3. If no history DTCs are displayed, go to next step. If history DTCs are displayed, go to step 7).
  4. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with radio receiver. If communication can be established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to BCM COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS under BCM DTC DEFINITION  .
  5. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). If communication can be established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to BCM COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS under BCM DTC DEFINITION  .
  6. Using scan tool, select DIAGNOSTIC CIRCUIT CHECK. Select CLASS 2 MESSAGE MONITOR. Using key fob, lock all doors. If scan tool displays status of all modules as ACTIVE, system is operating properly. If scan tool does not display status of all modules as ACTIVE, go to BCM COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS under BCM DTC DEFINITION  .
