DTC P1740 - Torque Management Request Circuits (Traction Control): Notes
On traction control, ECM decreases voltage to zero volts and monitors circuit. ABS/TC module also monitors circuit. Circuit provides unidirectional communication between ECM and ABS/TC module. Messages are sent every 25 milliseconds. This data is used to reduce engine torque during a wheel slipping condition where traction control is needed. If ECM detects a problem on this circuit, DTC will set.
Condition required to set DTC is:
- For traction control, signal out of range and condition is met for 2.5 seconds.
NOTE:
For circuit reference, see the WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
NOTE:
The following diagnostic procedure is for traction control request circuit. For transmission control, go to DTC P1740 TORQUE MANAGEMENT REQUEST CIRCUITS (TRANSMISSION CONTROL).
