DTC P1740 - Torque Management Request Circuits (Traction Control): Notes

On traction control, ECM decreases voltage to zero volts and monitors circuit. ABS/TC module also monitors circuit. Circuit provides unidirectional communication between ECM and ABS/TC module. Messages are sent every 25 milliseconds. This data is used to reduce engine torque during a wheel slipping condition where traction control is needed. If ECM detects a problem on this circuit, DTC will set.

NOTE: The following diagnostic procedure is for traction control request circuit. For transmission control, go to DTC P1740 TORQUE MANAGEMENT REQUEST CIRCUITS (TRANSMISSION CONTROL).
