DTC B2470, Daytime Running Lights Fault: Testing
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Remove DRL relay. Using DVOM, check voltage between DRL relay connector terminal B7 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, go to step 3). If voltage is greater than one volt, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ensure headlights are turned off. Disconnect PZM connector. Using DVOM, check voltage between DRL relay connector terminal B7 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, replace PZM. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair short to voltage in Light Green/Black wire between PZM and DRL relay.
- Using DVOM, check voltage between DRL relay connector terminal A9 (Pink wire) and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair open or short to ground in Pink wire between DRL relay and engine compartment fuse/relay center.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect PZM connector. Using DVOM, check resistance between DRL relay connector terminal B7 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Green/Black wire between PZM and DRL relay. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, check for malfunctioning DRL relay. See appropriate wiring diagram in DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS article. If relay is okay, replace PZM.
