Parallel Park Mode Inoperative

  1. If outside mirror system check was performed, go to next step. If outside mirror system check was not performed, go to OUTSIDE MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Disconnect right outside mirror connector C4 at right front door control module. Using DVOM, measure resistance between connector C4 terminals No. 1 (Yellow wire) and No. 5 (Light Green wire) for vertical drive motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If reading is 2-8 ohms, go to step  7 . If reading is not 2-8 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between each vertical drive motor terminal and any other terminal in connector C4. If any resistance is indicated, go to next step. If resistance is infinite (OL), go to step  5 .
  4. Check for short to ground or short between suspect circuits. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  5. Ensure all connectors except C4 are connected to right front door control module. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between mirror vertical drive motor pins No. 1 (Yellow wire) and No. 5 (Light Green wire) at right front door control module cavity. Regardless of polarity, if battery voltage is indicated, go to step  10 . If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
  6. With DVOM connected to vertical drive motor pins, turn ignition on and place gear shift lever in Reverse position. If battery voltage is indicated, go to step  8 . If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step  10 .
  7. Check for short to ground or open in Yellow or Light Green wire between mirror and right front door control module. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  8. Check for poor connections at right front door control module connector C4. If faulty connections are found, repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If connections are okay, go to next step.
  9. Replace right outside mirror. See POWER MIRRORS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, recheck system operation.
  10. Replace right front door control module. See POWER MIRRORS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, recheck system operation.
