Power Seats Memory Switch Inoperative
- If memory seats system check was performed, go to next step. If memory seats system check was not performed, go to MEMORY SEATS SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Operate power windows. If power windows operate properly, go to next step. If power windows do not operate properly, see POWER WINDOWS - SEVILLE article.
- If one or more memory functions are operating properly, go to step 8 . If no memory functions are operating properly, go to step 5 .
- Check for open in Black/White wire between memory function switch, left front power window switch and left front door control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found, go to step 9 .
- Disconnect memory function switch Gray, 6-pin connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between memory switch terminal "E" and each of the following terminals. See Fig 1
.
- Terminal "A" (White wire), depress memory function switch No. 1 button.
- Terminal "B" (Purple wire), depress memory function switch No. 2 button.
- Terminal "C" (Orange wire), depress memory function switch MEMORY SET button.
If all resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If any resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, go to step 8 .
- Disconnect Left Front Power Window Switch (LFPWS) connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between memory function switch connector terminals and LFPWS connector terminals as follows:
- Memory switch "A", window switch No. 3 (White wire).
- Memory switch "B", window switch No. 2 (Purple wire).
- Memory switch "C", window switch No. 4 (Orange wire).
If all resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If any resistance reading is more than 5 ohms, go to step 8 .
- Replace left front power window switch. See POWER WINDOWS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, recheck system operation.
- Replace memory function switch. After repairs, recheck system operation.
- Repair open in suspect wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, recheck system operation.
