Body Control Modules: Description
Vehicle equipped with 3 body control modules: Dash Integration Module (DIM), Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) and Rear Integration Module (RIM). Each module is connected to a class 2 serial data line. Many control signals are implemented by the class 2 serial data line.
The DIM functions include: power mode control (ignition switch state), control of headlights, front foglights, exterior lights, interior lights dimming, steering wheel controls, theft deterrent horn relay, HVAC compressor low side temperature and hood ajar switch input (export models).
The IPM functions include: front HVAC air delivery, HVAC temperature controls, ambient light sensor input, headlight twilight delay input, foglight switch input, instrument panel dimmer switch input, traction control switch input, interior lights switch input, key-in-ignition input, fuel door release switch input, trunk lid release switch input and ignition switch headlight control.
The RIM functions include: fuel level sensor input, heated seat controls, HVAC blower control, rear defogger control, parking brake relay controls, interior lights control, back-up light controls, automatic day/night mirror controls, rear foglights controls, fuel door/trunk lid release controls, Retained Accessory Power (RAP) control for sun roof module, door ajar switch inputs, tamper switch inputs from trunk lid, and anti-theft alarm controls.
