DTC B1805: Ignition Switch Problem: Description
Dash Integration Module (DIM) determines state of ignition switch from several circuits wired from ignition switch to DIM. These circuits are as follow:
- Ignition positive voltage (ON/START) on circuit No. 3 (Pink wire).
- Ignition positive voltage (ACC/ON/START) on circuit No. 1390 (White wire).
- Ignition positive voltage (ON) on circuit No. 300 (Orange wire).
- Ignition positive voltage (ACC/ON) on circuit No. 4 (Brown wire).
- Ignition positive voltage (START) on circuit No. 5 (Yellow wire).
There are 32 possible ignition switch state combinations, including all possible failure conditions. Five of these combinations represent valid ignition switch states and 4 others are between switch detent positions which can be assigned valid states. All others represent failure conditions. DIM checks for these invalid ignition state combinations.
DTC will set only when DTC B1982 or B1983 is not set as a current DTC in DIM memory. DTC will also set if DIM determines that an invalid ignition switch state exists. When DTC is set, Driver's Information Center (DIC) will display IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM message. DTC clears when DIM no longer detects an invalid ignition switch state. History DTC will clear after 50 fault free ignition cycles.
