DTC B1332: Left Heater Temperature Sensor: Testing

  1. If body control system diagnostic check has been performed, go to next step. If body control system diagnostic check has not been performed, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect left heater temperature sensor connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between sensor connector terminals "A" (Black wire) and "B" (Yellow/Black wire). If reading is 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 5 volts, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect sensor connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Cycle ignition switch to ON and OFF positions several times. If DTC resets, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, problem is intermittent. Check for intermittent or poor connections.
  4. Select IPM OPEN/SHORT data on scan tool. Display left heater temperature sensor voltage data. Start engine and disconnect left heater temperature sensor. Scan tool reading should increase to 5 volts. Reconnect inside air temperature sensor. If scan tool reading decreases, go to next step. If scan tool reading does not decrease, go to step  6 .
  5. Replace left heater temperature sensor. After replacing sensor, go to step  9 .
  6. Check for open or short in Yellow wire between sensor terminal "B" and IPM connector terminal B8. See Figure . If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary and go to next step. If circuit is okay, go to step  8 .
  7. Check for open or short in Black wire between left heater temperature sensor and IPM connector terminal B9. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace IPM. See INSTRUMENT PANEL INTEGRATION MODULE (IPM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  9 .
  8. Repair open or short in Yellow wire. After repairs, go to next step.
  9. Reconnect all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
