DTC B2462: GPS Signal Error: Testing

NOTE: To properly test this circuit, GPS antenna and coaxial cable grounding tab must be mounted to metal roof with maximum contact area.
  1. Perform OnStar(R) diagnostic system check. See ONSTAR(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Test GPS coaxial cable ground for an open or high resistance. If fault is located and repaired, go to step  8 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  3. Inspect GPS antenna cable at RIM for pinches, scrapes and cuts. If antenna cable is okay, go to step  6 . If antenna cable is not okay, go to next step.
  4. Inspect for poor connections at GPS antenna cable harness connector. If fault is located and repaired, go to step  8 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  5. Replace GPS antenna. After replacement, go to step  8 .
  6. Inspect harness connector at RIM for poor connections. If fault is located and repaired, go to step  8 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  7. Replace RIM. After replacement, go to next step.
  8. Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. Operate vehicle within conditions to set DTC. If DTC B2462 resets, return to step  2 . If DTC B2462 does not reset, system is okay.
