DTC B2462: GPS Signal Error: Testing
NOTE:
To properly test this circuit, GPS antenna and coaxial cable grounding tab must be mounted to metal roof with maximum contact area.
- Perform OnStar(R) diagnostic system check. See ONSTAR(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
- Test GPS coaxial cable ground for an open or high resistance. If fault is located and repaired, go to step 8 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
- Inspect GPS antenna cable at RIM for pinches, scrapes and cuts. If antenna cable is okay, go to step 6 . If antenna cable is not okay, go to next step.
- Inspect for poor connections at GPS antenna cable harness connector. If fault is located and repaired, go to step 8 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
- Replace GPS antenna. After replacement, go to step 8 .
- Inspect harness connector at RIM for poor connections. If fault is located and repaired, go to step 8 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
- Replace RIM. After replacement, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. Operate vehicle within conditions to set DTC. If DTC B2462 resets, return to step 2 . If DTC B2462 does not reset, system is okay.
