DTC B2476: Cellular Phone Select Service Switch Malfunction - Radio: Testing

  1. Perform OnStar(R) diagnostic system check. See ONSTAR(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Using a DVOM, measure 3-button OnStar(R) assembly power circuit for an open or short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If fault is located and repaired, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  3. Using a DVOM, measure 3-button OnStar(R) assembly ground circuit for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If fault is located and repaired, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  4. Check for poor harness connections at 3-button OnStar(R) assembly. If fault is located and repaired, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  5. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between power and ground circuits of 3-button OnStar(R) assembly. If voltage is about 3 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not about 3 volts, go to step  7 .
  6. Replace 3-button OnStar(R) assembly. After replacement, go to step  9 .
  7. Inspect for poor connections at RIM. If fault is located and repaired, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and repaired, go to next step.
  8. Replace RIM. After replacement, go to next step.
  9. Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Operate vehicle within conditions to set DTC. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC B2476 is present, go to step  2 . If DTC B2476 is not present, system is okay.
