Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM): Removal

  1. EBTCM is mounted in lower left side of engine compartment. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove relay center cover. Remove Engine Control Module (ECM) from relay center and move ECM wiring harness to one side. Remove lower radiator hose from engine only and move hose to one side.
  2. Pull out lock tab from EBTCM harness connector and disconnect connector. Disconnect pump motor connector at bottom of EBTCM. Remove and discard 6 EBTCM-to-Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) screws. Using care so as not to damage seal and solenoid valves, pull EBTCM and separate from BPMV. Note location and position of 2 wave springs between EBTCM and BPMV. Remove and discard wave springs.
