Removal & Installation: Generator: Removal
NOTE:
Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable.
- Remove the intake air resonator.
- Remove the drive belt.
- Remove the coolant heater, if equipped.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Remove the generator cooling duct
- Remove the field coil terminal nut and lead (1). See Fig 1.
- Remove the battery terminal nut and lead (2).
- Remove the upper mounting nut (4), lower mounting nut and lower mounting bolt (2).
- Push out the upper mounting bolt through the generator and the bracket.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the generator (3).
