Power Window System: Description

A permanent-magnet motor operates each power window. Each motor raises and lowers window when voltage is supplied by door module. Motor direction depends on polarity of supply voltage. Switches control supply voltage polarity.

Vehicle door system functions (windows, door locks, mirrors, etc.) are controlled directly by up to 7 modules, Driver Door Module (DDM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Left Rear Door Module (LRDM), Right Rear Door Module (RRDM), Left Middle Door Module (LMDM), Right Middle Door Module (RMDM) and Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA). All modules communicate with other modules on Simple Bus Interface (SBI) line. DDM is capable of communication over both SBI and class 2 data line.
