Memory System
The memory seat and mirror system allows the driver's seat to be set in 4 preset positions: MEMORY 1, MEMORY 2, EXIT 1 and EXIT 2. The Memory Seat Module (MSM) controls movement of seat horizontal, front vertical, rear vertical, recline and belt tower motors and lumbar horizontal and lumbar vertical motors. The Driver Door Module (DDM) and Passenger Front Door Module (PFDM) control movement of 2 left mirror motors and 2 right mirror motors. Steering Column Tilt/Telescoping Module (SCCM) stores steering column position for recall operation of up/down (tilt) and in/out (telescoping) motors. All motors have a position sensor, and work independently of each other. When memory switch is pressed, Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) receives memory switch input. DDSA then sends a memory position recall message over the class 2 serial data line to DDM, MSM, PFDM and SCCM. Each module receives the input and moves corresponding motors to stored position.
On the back of each Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is the number 1 or 2. These numbers correspond with the memory settings on the door panel. If RKE transmitter is used to enter vehicle, seats, mirrors and steering column will move to stored setting for driver.
