Memory Switch Inoperative - Power Seats
- If power seats diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If power seats diagnostic system check was not performed, go to POWER SEATS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DRIVER DOOR SWITCH data list. Monitor MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status. Press memory SET button. If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is SET, go to next step. If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is not SET, go to step 4 .
- Press memory EXIT button. If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is not EXIT, go to step 6 . If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is EXIT, go to step 11 .
- Disconnect memory switch connector. See Figure . Monitor MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status. Momentarily connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between ground and memory switch connector terminal No. 3 (Orange wire). If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is SET, go to next step. If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is not SET, go to step 8 .
- Momentarily connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between ground and memory switch connector terminals No. 1 (Black/White wire) and No. 3 (Orange wire). If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is SET, go to step 12 . If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is not SET, go to step 13 .
- Disconnect memory switch connector. See Figure . Monitor MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status. Momentarily connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between ground and memory switch connector terminal No. 5 (White wire). If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is MEMORY 1, go to next step. If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is MEMORY 1, go to step 9 .
- Momentarily connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between ground and memory switch connector terminal No. 4 (Purple wire). If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is MEMORY 2, go to step 10 . If MEMORY RECALL SWITCHES status is MEMORY 2, go to step 12 .
- Check for open in Orange wire between memory switch connector terminal No. 3 and Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) connector terminal No. 4. See Figure . If circuit is okay, go to step 11 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 16 .
- Check for open in White wire between memory switch connector terminal No. 5 and Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) connector terminal No. 3. See Figure . If circuit is okay, go to step 11 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 16 .
- Check for open in Purple wire between memory switch connector terminal No. 4 and Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) connector terminal No. 2. See Figure . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 16 .
- Check for poor connections at Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) connector. If connections are okay, go to step 14 . If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step 16 .
- Check for poor connections at memory switch connector. If connections are okay, go to step 15 . If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step 16 .
- Repair open in Black/White wire between memory switch connector terminal No. 1 and DDSA connector terminal No. 8. After repairs, go to step 16 .
- Replace DDSA. See DRIVER DOOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 16 .
- Replace memory switch. See MEMORY SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Recheck memory system operation. If memory system malfunction is still present, go to step 2 . If memory system malfunction is no longer present, repair is complete.
