Power Mirror Memory Recall Position Inaccurate
- If power door diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If power door diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to POWER DOOR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in ANALOG & ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS - DEVILLE article.
- Check that memory settings have been programmed. If memory setting have not been set, program settings into memory. Adjust both outside rearview mirrors to your preference. Using memory switch, set personalization to recall your adjustments. See MEMORY SET under OPERATION. Turn ignition on. Adjust both outside rearview mirrors to an extreme position. Turn ignition off and back on. If both outside rearview mirrors do not move back to stored setting, go to next step. If both outside rearview mirrors move back to stored setting, go to step 8 .
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DRIVER DOOR MODULE data list. Monitor SENSOR parameter while moving driver door mirror switch. Select PASSENGER DOOR MODULE data list. Monitor SENSOR parameter while moving passenger door mirror switch. If SENSOR parameters change while moving switches, go to next step. If SENSOR parameters do not change while moving switches, go to step 5 .
- Check for poor connections at suspect door module connector. If connections are okay, go to step 7 . If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step 8 .
- Check for poor connections at suspect mirror connector. If connections are okay, go to next step. If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step 8 .
- Replace inoperative outside mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER MIRRORS - DEVILLE article. After repairs, go to step 8 .
- Replace door module of inoperative mirror. See DOOR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER MIRRORS - DEVILLE article. After repairs, go to next step.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Recheck operation of memory mirror. Recheck for DTC. If DTC resets, go to step 2 . If DTC does not reset, repair is complete.
