DTC B1983: Device Power 1 Circuit Low: Testing
- If body control module diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body control module diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Connect scan tool to DLC. Start engine. Check for instrument panel DTCs. If DTC B1983 is not current, go to next step. If DTC B1983 is current, repair charging system. See DTC B1983: DEVICE POWER 1 CIRCUIT LOW .
- Disconnect PZM connectors. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and PZM connector C2 terminal B1 (Orange wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If 10-15 volts is indicated, go to next step. If other than 10-15 volts is indicated, go to step 5 .
- Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Repair high resistance in Orange wire between PZM and rear compartment fuse block. After repairs, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
