Test 4: Left Front Window Inoperative

  1. Perform power window system check. See SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. After performing system check, go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool. Select DATA from Driver Door Module (DDM) DATA list. Using master switch assembly, operate left front window to UP and DOWN positions. If scan tool indicates switch is operating correctly, go to step  4 . If scan tool indicates switch is not operating correctly, go to next step.
  3. Replace master switch assembly. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  4. Disconnect left front power window motor connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between left front power window motor connector terminals "A" (Brown wire) and "B" (Dark Blue wire) while pressing left front window switch on master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. If battery voltage exists in both positions, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist in both positions, go to step  6 .
  5. Replace left front power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Disconnect Driver Door Module (DDM) Brown 4-pin connector C5. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Brown wire between left front power window motor connector terminal "A" and DDM connector C5 terminal "B". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is 0-5 ohms, go to step  8 . If resistance is not 0-5 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Repair open in Brown wire between left front power window motor connector terminal "A" and DDM connector C5 terminal "B". Recheck system operation.
  8. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Dark Blue wire between left front power window motor connector terminal "B" and DDM connector C5 terminal "C". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is 0-5 ohms, go to step  10 . If resistance is not 0-5 ohms, go to next step.
  9. Repair open in Dark Blue wire between left front power window motor connector terminal "B" and DDM connector C5 terminal "C". Recheck system operation.
  10. Replace DDM. See DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
