Power Windows

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Operate each window from master switch assembly assembly. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly, with no sticking. If all windows operate correctly, go to next step. If any window does not operate properly, go to TEST 2: ONE OR ALL WINDOW(S) INOPERATIVE FROM MASTER SWITCH  or TEST 4: LEFT FRONT WINDOW INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Operate each window from individual window switch. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly, with no sticking. If all windows operate correctly, go to next step. If any window does not operate properly, go to TEST 6: ONE WINDOW INOPERATIVE AT INDIVIDUAL SWITCH (EXCEPT LEFT FRONT)  or TEST 4: LEFT FRONT WINDOW INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. Place master switch assembly lock-out switch in LOCK position. Repeat steps 1)  and 2)  . Passenger's windows should be inoperative from their individual switches, but operate from power window master switch. If all windows operate correctly, go to next step. If any window does not operate properly, go to TEST 3: LOCK-OUT FEATURE INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  4. Press left front window express down switch. Left front window should travel down fully without switch being held. If window does not operate properly, go to TEST 1: EXPRESS DOWN FEATURE INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS. If window operates correctly, system check is complete.
