Installation Procedure

CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  1. Quickly install the new brake fluid pressure sensor (2) to the BPMV as soon as the old sensor has been removed. Use a wrench to keep the brake fluid pressure sensor collar from turning (1). Tighten the brake fluid pressure sensor to 16 N.m (12 lbs ft).

  3. Install the Allen bolt (2) to the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) mounting bracket (3). Tighten the Allen bolt to 9 N.m (7 lbs ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the brake fluid pressure sensor.

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Check and fill the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Refer to MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING in Hydraulic Brakes.
