Compass Magnetic Variation Adjustment

Magnetic variation adjustments are required when compass displays a constant error in heading. Variation is difference between magnetic north and true north due to geographical location.
- Locate your current geographic location. Refer to variation zone map. See Fig 1.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- Press MODE button until compass/temperature mode is displayed.
- Press and hold RESET button for about 5 seconds, or until last entered variation zone is displayed.
- Press MODE button until correct zone number is displayed.
- Press RESET button to set new variation zone. All segments will illuminate briefly to acknowledge change in zone number.
