PASSLOCK™ System: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and 2001 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Body Control Module (BCM) must be programmed with proper Regular Production Option (RPO) configurations before performing learn procedures. RPO are printed on service parts identification label, located on inside of rear compartment lid. See BODY CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING/REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CONFIGURATION  under PROGRAMING.
NOTE: When replacing BCM with original equipment GM replacement part, BCM will learn Passlock™ sensor data code automatically, but Powertrain Control Module (PCM) must be manually programed to new password (in order to allow crank relay and fuel injectors operation) using following procedures.
NOTE: When replacing PCM with original equipment GM replacement part, PCM will learn new password (in order to allow crank relay and fuel injectors operation) automatically. Once password is learned, any procedure requiring PCM to learn a new password, such as replacing BCM or Passlock™ sensor will require new password to be programed manually using following procedures. If a PCM is used in another vehicle, PCM will have to be manually programmed to new vehicles password using following procedures.
