Installation (Impala)

CAUTION:
Use correct fastener in correct location. Replacement fasteners must be correct part number for application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in service procedures. DO NOT use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage fastener. Use correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to part and systems.
- Connect electrical connectors HVAC control module. Connect vacuum connectors to HVAC control module. Install HVAC control module into instrument panel. Install retaining screws to secure HVAC control module.
- Position front floor console to vehicle. Connect electrical connectors. Install front floor console. Engage clips at instrument panel. Install front floor console bolts to near instrument panel, at transaxle shift control lever and under mat in rear bin.
- Install front floor console trim plate. Install ashtray. Connect cigar lighter electrical connector. Install ashtray lamp and wiring harness. Connect wiring harness retainers to trim plate. Lower trim plate over shift control handle. Rotate trim plate 180 degrees. Connect electrical connector at rear of trim plate. Install console shift control bezel. Engage trim plate. Ensure that retainers are completely engaged. Close storage compartment door. Place transaxle shift lever in Park. Release park brake.
