Transmitter RESYNCHRONIZATION

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Savana, 2002 Chevrolet Chevy Express, 2001 GMC Savana Special, 2001 GMC Savana Camper Special, and 2001 GMC Savana. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Resynchronization may be necessary due to security methods used by RKE system. Transmitters do not send the same signal twice (rolling code). Receiver will not respond to a signal it has sent previously. This prevents recording and playback of transmitter signal. Resynchronization will be necessary under following conditions:
    • Transmitter battery is very weak.
    • Transmitter battery is changed.
    • Vehicle battery is replaced.
    • Vehicle battery is disconnected.
    • Transmitter buttons have been pushed 256 times out of range of receiver.
  2. To resynchronize transmitter to receiver, stand within 5 feet to vehicle. Simultaneously depress and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter for 7 seconds. Door locks should cycle to confirm resynchronization.
