Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts and tighten in sequence (1, 2 and 3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

    Important:  Clean the material from the power steering pressure hose and install a new seal

  3. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hose to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  4. Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  5. Install the power steering pulley. Refer to POWER STEERING PULLEY REPLACEMENT .
  6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to BLEEDING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
