Installation Procedure

    NOTE:
    • Handle the MAF sensor carefully.
    • Do not drop the MAF sensor in order to prevent damage to the MAF sensor.
    • Do not damage the screen located on the air inlet end of the MAF.
    • Do not touch the sensing elements.
    • Do not allow solvents and lubricants to come in contact with the sensing elements.
    • Use a small amount of a soap based solution in order to aid in the installation.

  1. If previously removed, carefully install the MAF/IAT sensor to the air cleaner outlet duct. Ensure that sensor is clocked properly.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  3. Tighten the MAF/IAT sensor clamp (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  4. Loosely install the air cleaner outlet duct assembly to the vehicle.
  5. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector.

  7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner housing.
  8. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps (1, 2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  9. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.
