Installation Procedure

  1. Remove the caps from the pipes.
  2. Install the fuel pipe to the vehicle.

  4. Connect the engine compartment pipe to the fuel rail. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the fuel line bracket nut to the stud (5).

    Tighten:  Tighten the engine compartment fuel line nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the fuel line bracket to the stud.
  9. Install the fuel line bracket nut to the stud (5).

    Tighten:  Tighten the engine compartment fuel line nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  10. Connect the quick-connect fitting at the chassis fuel pipe (3). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  12. Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  13. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.
