Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: View Of Generator Bracket, Bolts, Nut & Stud (8.1L)

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the generator bracket.
  2. Install the generator bracket stud.

    Tighten:  Tighten the stud to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the generator bracket bolts and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts and nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

  4. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines)  or Generator Replacement (8.1L Engine) .
  5. Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 8.1L.
  6. Install the fan and clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  7. Install the battery cable junction block bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
