Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the battery cable junction block bracket bolts.
    2. Fig 2: View Of Generator Bracket, Bolts, Nut & Stud (8.1L)

  2. Remove the fan and clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 8.1L.
  4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines)  or Generator Replacement (8.1L Engine) .
  5. Remove the generator bracket bolts and nut.
  6. Remove the generator bracket stud.
  7. Remove the generator bracket.
