Installation Procedure
- Install a new throttle body gasket.
- Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
- Install the throttle body assembly.
- Install the throttle body attaching bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the throttle body bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the throttle body.
- Connect the air control valve electrical connector.
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct and clamps (1, 2). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Connect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (LP1, LY7) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS6) in Engine Cooling.
- Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Monitor the throttle angles, using a scan tool. The accelerator pedal should operate freely without binding between full closed throttle and wide open throttle.
- Start the engine.
- Check for coolant leaks.
- Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.

IMPORTANT:
Always use a torque wrench in order to obtain the proper torque.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that the air control valve electrical connector and the connector seal are properly installed and not damaged.
