Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: View Of Fuel Rail Quick-Connect Fitting, Fuel Feed Hose & Chassis Fuel Feed Pipe

  1. Remove the caps from the chassis fuel pipe and the fuel rail pipe.
  2. Connect the fuel feed hose (2) to the chassis fuel pipe (3). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  3. Connect the fuel feed hose (2) to the fuel rail (1). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .

  4. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  6. Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  8. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming (Domestic) or Transmitter Programming (Export - Including Canada) in Keyless Entry.
