Knock Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the right knock sensor, if required.




3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the left knock sensor, if required.




4. Remove the appropriate knock sensor. Cylinder heads shown removed for clarity.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the appropriate knock sensor.

Tighten the sensor to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




2. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the left knock sensor, if required.




3. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the right knock sensor, if required.
4. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Service and Repair).
