Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

  1. If reinstalling the existing crank sensor, inspect the O-ring for damage and replace as necessary.
  2. Install the crankshaft position sensor (2).
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the crankshaft position sensor fastener (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the CKP electrical connector (3).
  5. Install the crankshaft position sensor wiring harness fastener (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the crank sensor heat shield (1) to the retaining pins.
  7. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

  8. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield (2) and fasteners (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  9. Lower the vehicle.
