Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Fig 1: View Of Right Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield

  4. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield fasteners (1) and remove the heat shield (2).
  5. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

  7. Remove the crank sensor heat shield retainers and the heat shield (1) to gain access to the crank position sensor.

  9. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) electrical connector (3).

  11. Remove the crankshaft sensor fastener (1).
  12. Remove the crankshaft sensor (2).
