ECM Replacement
If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:
- The ECM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
- The CKP Variation Learn-Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn , for the 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L or 6.2L and Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn for the 6.0L Hybrid.
- The Throttle/Idle Learn procedure-Refer to the following:
- Throttle/Idle Learn for the 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L or 6.2L
- Throttle/Idle Learn for the 6.0L Hybrid
- The Theft Deterrent Programming-Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
- Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn-Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn .
- The Fuel Composition Diagnostic, as necessary-Refer to Fuel Composition Diagnosis .
- Engine Oil Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Engine Oil Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
- Transmission Fluid Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Transmission Fluid Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
