Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) Reprogramming
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
When Reprogramming must be performed, refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
Ensure the following conditions exist in order to prepare for drive motor generator battery control module programming or reprogramming:
- The battery is fully charged.
- The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
- The Techline equipment cable connection at the data link connector (DLC) is secure.
Program the drive motor generator battery control module using the latest software matching the vehicle. Refer to up-to-date Techline equipment user instructions.
If the drive motor generator battery control module fails to program, proceed as follows:
- Ensure the DLC and drive motor generator battery control module connections are secure.
- Inspect the Techline equipment for the latest software version.
- Attempt to program the drive motor generator battery control module. If the drive motor generator battery control module still cannot be programmed properly, replace the drive motor generator battery control module.
IMPORTANT:
If the DLC connection or the control module programming sequence is disrupted during a programming event the drive motor generator battery control module may stop communicating, it will be necessary to remove and reinstall the drive motor generator battery control module power fuse to re-establish communications with the drive motor generator battery control module. Control module programming can then be reinitiated.
