Aiming Procedure

  1. Remove any snow, ice or mud from the vehicle.
  2. Align the vehicles left tires with a reference line from the back tires extending 4.5 ft (1.5 m) beyond the front of the vehicle to the EL-51470  . If a line is not available, running a tape measure resting against the tires from the rear tires to 4.5 ft (1.5 m) beyond the front of the car works as well.

  3. Verify that the tires are inflated to the proper tire pressure and the vehicle is on a level surface.
  4. Measure from the reference line on the floor to the night vision camera. Place the EL-51470  the same distance from the reference line as the night vision camera is from the line. This will align the camera left-to-right with the car.

  5. Measure the distance from the center of the camera to the floor and raise the target crosshairs to this height. The tripod has a crank on the rear of it to raise the target, adjusting the feet of the tripod is mainly used to level it.
  6. Turn the adjusting screws and place the EL-51470  level and as square to the vehicle.
  7. Using Service Programming System (SPS), select Night Vision Control Module and then select Setup to enable Night Vision Calibration.
  8. Verify the scan tool information Night Vision Camera Alignment Status is OK.
    • If status is not OK, perform calibration
    • If OK is displayed
  9. All OK.
