Initialization Procedure
"Initialization" refers to the sunroof system learning the reference location of the hard stop. Initialization is done in the following scenarios:
- First Time System is Powered - Initialization has not been executed yet
- E-Drive System (motor and controller) has been removed or replaced
- False reversals are experienced (To re-teach the sunroof)
- If the glass is adjusted after initialization has already been completed
Until the E-Drive System (motor and controller) has been initialized (or the roof is de-initialized), the glass and sunshade "manual open" switch moves the panel in the open direction for approximately 20 mm (0.8 in) of cable travel. The glass "manual close" switch moves the panel in the continuous close direction, while the sunshade "manual close" switch results in no panel movement. The glass and sunshade express movements are disabled. If the "Initialize" process is interrupted while in progress, (for example if the "Glass Close" switch is released before completing the sequence) the roof shall de-initialize itself and the "initialize" process will have to be re-run.
