Aiming Procedure
- Remove any snow, ice, or mud from the vehicle.
Align the vehicles left tires with a reference line from the back tires extending 4.5 ft (1.5 m) beyond the front of the vehicle to the EL-51470. If a line is not available, running a tape measure resting against the tires from the rear tires to 4.5 ft (1.5 m) beyond the front of the car works as well.
- Verify that the tires are inflated to the proper tire pressure and the vehicle is on a level surface.
Measure from the reference line on the floor to the night vision camera. Place the EL-51470 the same distance from the reference line as the night vision camera is from the line. This will align the camera left-to-right with the car.
- Measure the distance from the center of the camera to the floor, and raise the target crosshairs to this height. The tripod has a crank on the rear of it to raise the target, adjusting the feet of the tripod is mainly used to level it.
- Turn the adjusting screws and place the EL-51470 level and as square to the vehicle.
- Using Service Programming System (SPS), select Night Vision Control Module, and then select Setup to enable Night Vision Calibration.
- Verify the scan tool information Night Vision Camera Alignment Status is OK.
- If status is not OK, perform calibration
- Go to next step: If OK is displayed
- All OK.
