Steering Gear Bushing Procedure
- Use a suitable tool to press out the OLD bushing. DISCARD the bushing.
- Lubricate the NEW bushing with a mild soap to aid in installation.
- Install the NEW bushing into the steering gear housing.
- Use a rubber mallet to tap on the NEW bushing until the bushing completely seats in steering gear.
NOTE:
- Before removal, note the direction and how far the OLD bushing is installed in the steering gear to assist in the installation of the NEW bushing.
- Ensure the rubber flange on the NEW bushing is completely inserted into the steering gear before pushing in the entire bushing.
