Cruise Control: Description: Notes

System uses manifold vacuum to power a throttle servo unit. When speed adjustment is necessary, servo moves the throttle by receiving a varying amount of controlled vacuum from a transducer unit. Speedometer cable (from transmission) drives transducer and a cable from transducer drives speedometer at instrument panel. Transducer is activated by a three-position switch located at end of turn signal lever. In addition, Cadillac models have an ON-OFF switch on instrument panel to completely shut system off.
