Injection Pump Housing Pressure Test
- Drain all fuel from pump. Connect an air line to the pump inlet connection. Air must be clean and dry. Seal off return line fitting. Completely immerse pump in bath of clean test oil.
- Raise air pressure in pump to 20 psi (1.4 kg/cm2 ). Leave pump immersed in oil for 10 minutes to allow trapped air to escape. It is normal for air to leak from the high pressure outlet fittings.
- If pump is not leaking, reduce air pressure to 2 psi (.14 kg/cm2 ) for 30 seconds. If there is still no leak, increase air pressure to 20 psi (1.4 kg/cm2 ). If no leaks are present, pump is ready for use.
