Purging Fuel Tank

Water in the fuel tank may be removed with a pump or by siphoning. The pump or siphon hose should be hooked up to the 1/4" fuel return hose above the rear axle or under the hood near the fuel pump. Continue siphoning until all water is removed. Use clear plastic line or observe filter bowl on draining equipment to determine when clear fuel begins to flow. Remove the cap on fuel tank when purging the tank and replace cap when finished. Use the same precautions for handling diesel fuel that you would use for purging gasoline fuel tanks.
