Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

1. Ensure that TPS bracket screws are tight and that no play exists in TPS and primary throttle valve arms.
2. Connect suitable ohmmeter to green and black leads of TPS.
3. Open throttle approximately one third through its travel, then slowly close throttle and observe ohmmeter. Continuity should exist when primary throttle valve clearance is .011 inch on models with manual transmission or .015 inch on models with automatic transmission.
4. To adjust, loosen TPS bracket screws and slide TPS as necessary until continuity exists at specified clearances.
5. Retighten bracket screws.
