ITC Valve

  1. Remove air cleaner cover and element. Cool ITC valve by blowing compressed air on it. Ensure air control valve closes cool air passage at idle.
  2. Reinstall air cleaner components and warm up engine. Ensure air control valve opens cool air passage at idle. If valve fails to operate properly, perform following tests.
  3. Cool sensing portion of ITC valve to 95°F (35°C) or below with cool water. Blow air into pipe "A". See Fig 1 . Ensure air flows from pipe "A" to pipe "B".
  4. Close pipe "B". See Fig 1 . Ensure air does not flow through atmospheric port. Heat ITC valve to about 113°F (45°C) in hot water. Do not allow water inside valve. Blow air into pipe "A". Close pipe "B". Ensure air flows through atmospheric port.
