ITC Valve
- Remove air cleaner cover and element. Cool ITC valve by blowing compressed air on it. Ensure air control valve closes cool air passage at idle.
- Reinstall air cleaner components and warm up engine. Ensure air control valve opens cool air passage at idle. If valve fails to operate properly, perform following tests.
- Cool sensing portion of ITC valve to 95°F (35°C) or below with cool water. Blow air into pipe "A". See Fig 1
. Ensure air flows from pipe "A" to pipe "B".
- Close pipe "B". See Fig 1
. Ensure air does not flow through atmospheric port. Heat ITC valve to about 113°F (45°C) in hot water. Do not allow water inside valve. Blow air into pipe "A". Close pipe "B". Ensure air flows through atmospheric port.
