Oxygen Sensor

The oxygen sensor used in closed loop emission control system consists of a closed end zirconia sensor mounted in exhaust manifold. The sensor generates a voltage which varies with oxygen content in exhaust gas stream. As oxygen content rises (lean mixture), voltage falls. As oxygen content falls (rich mixture), voltage rises.
