Coolant Temperature Sensor

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor coupler. Remove sensor from intake manifold. Connect ohmmeter to sensor. Immerse sensor sensing part into water.
  2. Gradually raise water temperature and read resistance on ohmmeter. See Fig 1 . If resistance at each temperature is not equal to graph reading, replace sensor.
