Second Air Control System

  1. Check hoses and pipes for cracks, kinks, damage or loose valve connections. Disconnect second air hose from air cleaner with engine cold.
  2. Start engine and run at idle speed. Check that air is drawn into hose (bubbling sound). Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Air should not be drawn into hose (no bubbling sound).
  3. Increase engine speed to 3000 RPM and quickly release accelerator pedal. Air should be drawn into hose. Disconnect coolant temperature connector. Connect a 10,000 ohm resistance jumper wire. See Fig 1 . Air should be drawn into hose at engine idle speed.
