Fuel-Cut Solenoid

  1. With ignition on and engine stopped, disconnect 12-pin carburetor connector. See Fig 1 . Check voltage from harness connector terminal A to B. If voltage is greater than 8 volts, go to step 2). If voltage is less than 8 volts, check battery voltage. If okay, harness from ignition to terminal A is open or shorted.
  2. Connect carburetor connector terminal a to battery and terminal b to ground. If solenoid does not click, check for open in carburetor harness or solenoid. If solenoid does click, solenoid and harness are okay.
